Words

Words

Fairytales can be real if you just believe
Got my mind made, I don’t plan to leave
Cause you were made for me
Simple that may be
Why be complex
loving you is so easy

Can’t tell you nothing you ain’t already heard
No matter what I say it’s nothing but words
Just let me prove to you what I know is real
Let me express to you the way that I feel

Dear Words,
Why is it that you are so used, misused, manipulated and abused? It seems those who are the most talented with words, those who have been gifted with the power, the intellect and the creativity to use words are the same who abuse words the most. The two most powerful words in the human language are yes and no yet the two most abused words in the human language are love and hate.
Through the power of your submitting or the strength of your refusal you have been given ability to change a person’s life to have an affect on them that may prove to be everlasting.

Yes, I will marry you. No, I don’t believe you’re the one the Lord has commissioned me to be spend the rest of my life in this temporary assignment with.

I love you, I’m addicted to you, can’t imagine my life without you and would do anything to provide for you and our future. I hate you.

So, armed with this knowledge and prepared since we were children with the understanding words create our reality, why is it we don’t more careful gird our words, take charge over our words and maintain a sense of accountability over words spoken? Is it really that easy to say yes when you mean no? Love when you mean hate? Is a table a table if we never name it to be as such? Can love defeat hate in just the mere power of a sentence or is it necessary to show up in our actions as well?

As children, we believe most words spoken and speak the truth in most words, not yet having inserted the complex, societal filter that allows words without actions to become inaction or actions without words to create destruction. As adults, we disbelieve most words spoken as it is a rarity for words to speak the truth and they are traditionally sifted through a filter in order to create the best reality for the moment, the situation and the timing. It is common for words to be blanched of action and uncommon for actions to follow the words spoken.

Just as India.Arie and Anthony David have pointed out we’ve heard it all before, no matter what you say it’s nothing but words. My question to you, Words, is why do you continue to spew forth out of the mouth of adults who should have enough experiential experience to eliminate the inactive words and replace them with the expressions that create action?

Ladies and Gentlemen of the Jury… you’ve spun a fine tale of scenarios but where is the proof to support it?

Love Always,
Sunny
